Vidzeme is a cultural and historical region in central and northern Latvia, renowned for its distinctive natural landmarks, such as Latvia’s longest river, the 460-kilometre-long Gauja; its highest peak, Gaiziņkalns, reaching 311.6 metres above sea level; the largest cave, Gūtmaņala, with a height of 10 metres, a width of 12 metres, and a depth of 18.8 metres; sandstone cliffs; and the rocky coastline of Vidzeme.
