Representatives of the “Garden Pearls for Everyone” project gather best practices from Gothenburg Association gardens to gain inspiration and examples for inclusive tourism pilot projects to be implemented in 17 gardens across Estonia and Latvia.
From May 13 to 15, representatives of the “Garden Pearls for Everyone” project visited Gothenburg, Sweden. During the trip, meetings and discussions were held with representatives of the Gothenburg Garden Association and its member gardens – the Gothenburg City Garden, Jonsered Garden, Gothenburg Botanical Garden, Växtrum in Lerum, Nolhaga Castle and Alingsås gardens, as well as Gunnebo House. In each location, the Latvian and Estonian representatives were welcomed with presentations, site tours, and discussions on accessibility issues and practical solutions in gardens and parks.
The significance of the project visit and the development of inclusive tourism in Estonia and Latvia was highlighted in a publication by the Lerum municipality on the day of our visit. The publication is available here: https://lerum.se/5.2ff5772818f37977b9c5fde4.html
We extend our gratitude to the West Sweden Tourist Board, the representatives of the Gothenburg Garden Association, and all the staff at the gardens and parks for their openness, shared experience, and warm hospitality!
