At the end of June, representatives from various creative industries gathered at the Burtnieki Quarter in Limbaži to agree on the establishment of the association “Vidzeme Creative Hives” (Vidzemes Radošie stropi).
Participants and other interested parties acknowledged that the creative industries’ offerings in both Vidzeme and Latvia are extensive, high-quality, and undoubtedly of interest to visitors. Therefore, it is crucial to collaborate and work together to enhance competitiveness and promote local products and hands-on participation opportunities for both local enthusiasts and international guests.
This cooperation platform is being developed as one of the strategic actions of the Interreg Europe project “Cult-CreaTE,” aimed at fostering synergy between the cultural and creative industries (CCI) and the tourism sector.
All attendees also had the opportunity to explore the Burtnieki Quarter. Located in the heart of Limbaži’s old town, the Burtnieki Quarter is ideally suited for leisurely daily relaxation, musical concerts, art exhibitions, family events, theatrical performances, seminars, and other creative activities. Within the quarter, nine different crafts find their creative home, alongside the “Ābele” Art Gallery and the “ILze” Improvisation Puppet Theater Studio.
A huge thank you to everyone who participated both in person and via the Zoom platform! We will certainly keep everyone informed about the further progress of the association’s establishment and its upcoming activities.
