CHARTS INTERREG IVC Project Partnership launches the 'Thessalia Charter' for Cultural & Heritage Sustainable Tourism Development in Brussels during 'Open Days'
During the World Tourism Day, on September 27th, the new Limbaži-Katvari greenway has been officially opened. 7km long, it connects the Hanseatic town Limbaži and beautiful Katvari lake. The greenway can be used for cyclists, hikers and also skiers in winter. It is foreseen that in the future the development of the greenway will continue.
The Project "Regeneration of Parks as Integral Part of Historical Heritage" (Green Heritage) will organize its Final Conference of the same name in Gulbene, Latvia, to present the development of the Project in Latvia, Estonia and Russia and its achievements. It is planned to offer to the audience of the event presentations of the best practice in manor and surrounding parks management, development and involvement in tourism activities.
The event will take place on October 23, 2014 at Vecgulbene manor, Gulbene, Latvia. Please, see the detailed programme below.

On June 6th 2014 within the Estonia Latvia Russia crossborder project “Regeneration of parks as an integral part of cultural heritage” the scientific and practical workshop “Preservation and use of the historical gardens and parks” was held in the exhibition hall “Smolny” in St. Petersburg. Representatives of the museums of St. Petersburg and Leningrad as well as the Latvian delegation participated in the workshop.
On 20th of May, 2014 in Hotel Astor Riga the Latvian GreenWays Association (LGWA) was established with the participation of Ms. Mercedes Muñoz (President of European GreenWays Association) as well as other prominent GreenWays specialists.
The founding members of the LGWA are 11 local municipalities of Vidzeme (Northern Latvia) and Kurzeme (Western Latvia), where most of the GreenWays are located. More information will follow soon!
